Meet our Director!
Sam Cox
Abbey Director
As the Abbey Director, Sam helps to shepherd the various ministries which come under this vibrant and diverse network of connections. He is humbled to serve in such a capacity, and is excited about how the Lord might lead and grow these various ministries.
Sam is a retired Army Reserve officer and spent thirty-five years as an independent school educator, serving in various roles as a history teacher, department chair, dean of students, upper school director, and, for twenty years, as head of school at two classical Christian schools in Roanoke, VA, and in Greensboro, NC. In addition to his role as director of the Abbey, he also serves as an educational consultant and a writer. Sam holds a B.S. from Wake Forest University, a B.A. from Oregon State University, a M.S. from the University of South Carolina, and a M.A. from the College of William & Mary, and has completed additional graduate coursework at several other universities.
Sam is happily married to Erin and dad to Anna, Avery, and Charlie. Outside of work, you might find Sam eagerly engaged in reading, running, traveling, or spending time with his family and two large dogs.
